How to Compel Prospects to Read Every Word of Your Sales Letter PDF Print E-mail

Wouldn't it be great to force people to read every word of your sales letter? To find a trick to keep them engaged from start to finish?  Well, guess what.

You just found it.

I call it the Chain of Attention.

Here's how it works. You end every paragraph with a cliffhanger, a phrase that promises that the next paragraph will offer some amazing nugget of wisdom.

And you begin every paragraph with a phrase that links to the cliffhanger, and pulls the reader in.

These relationships are like links in a chain, connecting each paragraph together, throughout the sales letter.

So the reader starts at the top, and ends at the bottom, being led through the sales pitch ike a dog on a leash. And here's the amazing part.

This technique has been around since the early days of copywriting, yet most internet marketing gurus don't use it to its fullest potential. I wonder how much money is being left on the table because these so-called marketing "experts" don't make use of this trick.

Let me explain it another way.

You end paragraphs with phrases like "And here's why." And you begin paragraphs with phrases like "This so simple, you'll laugh."

You see what's happening here? Readers are almost irresistably drawn through the sales letter.  Every paragraph ends with a cliffhanger, and every paragraph starts with a hook.

To get you started, here are some phrases to end paragraphs with:

*  And the reason is this.
* And guess what?
* Better yet...
* Let me show you how.
* Could this really be true?
* So, what will you do?
* Think about this!
* This need not apply to you – and here’s why.
* Not only that.
* But wait – there’s more.
* And check this out
* One more thing – it’s important.
* And that’s just for starters.
* We’re not through yet.
* It gets even better.
* Do you understand what this means?
* You think I’m lying, don’t you?
* The doctors were sure I was going to die.
* So I stole it.
* But don't take my word for it.
* Heres how you can stop it in its tracks.
* Here are some extras to really make this work for you.
* And don't forget.
* Keep reading and I will prove my point.
* Right?
* I will prove it.
* Why is this important?
* Sounds hard to believe.
* Let me prove it to you.
* You may be next.
* You are wondering what I mean, aren't you?
* How is this possible?
* What is happening here?
* How did I do it?
* What is the secret?
* Understand?

Of course, your high-school English teacher would be horrified if she saw you end sentences with fragments like these. But this is not about writing perfect English. This a about making money.

And next, here are some phrases to start paragraphs with:

* First,
* Now heres the question,
* Right now,
* Do you understand the power of this idea?
* I use this amazing technique all the time.
* When you get right down to it,
* What would you say if
* This is so simple you'll laugh
* If you take
* People who make the most
* Listen,
* Case in point.
* It’s a fact.
* What’s more,
* What, you ask?
* And if that wasnt enough.
* Why is this important?
* Because
* Think of what this means for you!
* As if that's not enough.
* Best of all,
* But wait there's more.
* By now,
* By the way,
* Even better,
* Good news!
* Meanwhile,
* Nevertheless,
* No wonder,
* On the other hand,
* What's more,
* You see,
* Think about it,
* But that's just part of the story.
* These are just a few
* It's true.

You see, I know the Chain of Attention works.  How do I know?
